United Kingdom
Statkraft has operated in the United Kingdom since 2006. Our UK operations involve developing, owning and operating renewable production facilities, and trading and origination of power from our own projects and those of third parties.
Since 2006, Statkraft has invested over £ 2 billion in the UK's renewable energy infrastructure. Our UK energy generation portfolio includes six onshore wind farms in Wales and Scotland, five greener grid parks in Scotland and England, and Rheidol Hydropower Plant near Aberystwyth in Mid-Wales. Further solar, wind and grid projects are in construction and development.
We have facilitated over 4.5 GW of new-build renewable energy generation through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), with a portfolio exceeding 12.7 TWh per year from over 250 projects, positioning us as the leading provider of short and long term PPAs in the UK. Combined with our “flex” activities, our markets contracts exceed around 9 GW across 400 customers.
As a state-owned utility, Statkraft is a solid, dependable partner, committed to playing a leading role in the UK energy market.
